I'm sitting in class wondering why I am learning how to write a blog in a library course. What happened to reading books in your spare time? When I first imagined myself as a librarian, I saw myself swanning around the book stacks followed by a gaggle of avid readers all slathering for my scintillating review on the books they should read.
Clearly the bubble has burst as here I sit writing a blog about how I don't want to write blogs, I also don't want to network, unless I am required to do it for work. I can hear the muffled gasps, in this age of computer technology I am a self confessed computer phobe and yes the phone is still my favoured mode of communication, and to shock you even further... I prefer talking to people FACE-TO-FACE!!!!
Apparently library technicians are required to have information literacy skills equivalent to a librarian, I wish the pay was also equivalent, but I will solider on dragging myself kicking and screaming into the technological age, prying my brain open with a crowbar and mopping up the necessary knowledge with the tenacity of a dripping sponge. Who knows I might even become addicted, Now there's an idea for a blog site 'Blog addicts anonymous'... hmmm!!
